"Well, its a little bit of an odd story." Cory pops a piece of geminite into his mouth as he continues onward. "My father, he was actually the descendant of a really powerful vampiress, but I can't remember her name. Weird that I can't remember the name of my own grandmother. But, my dad taught me of my heritage, and my grandfather taught me how to use terraformation." He sighs as he swallows the crystal candy. "My dad says I'm lucky that I got the healing and senses of a vampire, but I can still walk in the sun. He guesses that my eyes would have been really weak to light, but I don't really have to worry about that..."

Maethoriel nodded. "But you can still touch other people without trying to rip their throats out. I envy you. I envy all humans. I can't stand the fact that, even though I can live forever, I can't fully return passion unless I marry another vampire. I can barely stand my own kind. We think to highly of ourselves."

"The proud peacock who struts his feathers the most, is the one least likely to see the tiger that is his demise." Cory turns towards her again. "That's what my grandpa used to tell me when I would boast about how quickly I learned a new move or showed off in any way. Then he'd throw a boulder at me and tell me to catch it." Cory sort of laughs a little.

"Yes, well, we are beautiful hunters. Most humans adore us. We can get almost any person we want because of the way we look, and they will never know that death is the fate of those who want us." Maethoriel looked at Cory. "You know, you aren't that bad to be only 14. I exspect you to act more like the adolesents in town. Arrogant and foolish."

"Actually, I was meaning that metaphor to say vampires are like the peacocks." Cory chuckles weakly as he says this. "But thanks for what you said about me. Like I said, I was raised to not be prideful. The more I boasted, the bigger the boulder." Cory picks up his speed slightly. "Come on, we're only a few more yards from the cave."

"I know that you meant we are the peacocks. However, peacocks don't bite. They peck," Maethoriel smiled, and sped up with him. She cleared her throat as the burning got worse. "You're welcome. I thank your grandfather. If you were like the rest of them, you would have gotten at least slapped by now."

"Eh, it would have hurt the slapper more than it would have hurt me. My grandpa did some sort of thing with my skeleton to make it harder than stone." Cory slows down in front of some bushes. "We're here." He walks into the bushes, then a splashing sound is heard. "HELP!!"

Maethoriel gently put down Estaye, then ran into the bushes. She drew her staff, and looked at her katana. It got in front of her. She looked around for Cory, walking to the water's edge. She took in air, then whispered her spell for Disappear.

Cory is laying on the ground infront of the water, which is only a puddle his face is in it, but only slightly. "HELP! I CAN"T SWIM!!" Cory is flinging his arms all around, actually thinking he is drowning in no less than 2 inches of water. "HELP!!"

Maethoriel held back laughter as she helped him up. She put her staff away. "Cory, you were in 2 inches of water." She walked back to Estaye and picked her up again. She walked back to where Cory was.

Cory's face turns a bright red. "Oh." He walks into the cave with slumped shoulders and sits in a curled up position in a dark corner of the cave, embarassed my his little accident. He cuts himself again and bleeds out into a bowl he makes from the earth. With just a wave of his arm, Cory pushes the bowl across the ground towards Maethoriel.

Maethoriel placed Estaye at the entrance. She walked over to Cory. She picked up the bowl on her way and drank thoughtfully. She liked the taste of his blood. "Cory, don't feel bad. You can't see. Well, you can see through earth, but I doubt water is that easy to detect. Be proud that at least you can walk around in public while other blind people have to rely on people, animals, or canes."

Cory looks up. "Yeah, but it was still really embarassing. Water isn't really all that hard to feel, its just that I was in a hurry, and didn't look where I was going, in a way of saying." He stands up and walks closer to where she is sitting then sits back down. "I can walk around in public, like you said, but people still see I'm blind and try to do things to help me. If a blind person is just walking around a town without any help, does it look like he needs it? Ugh, it's just so fusterating. Always having people that think just because you're blind, you're helpless." He turns towards her. "You should be proud you can see colors. All I see is nothing."

Maethoriel laughed. "We envy each other, then." She closed her eyes after taking another sip. She swished it around, as if tasting fine wine. "You do taste great, though. There is nothing extremely bad in your blood. It has an earthy taste."

"Thanks, I guess." Cory pops another piece of geminite into his mouth, then reaches into the pouch. "I've only got about 6 pieces left. Guess I should make some more." Cory stands up and places his hands together with the palms touching and his fingers laced except for his ring and pinky fingers. Energy becomes visible around Cory as small blue-ish green crystals grow around him, growing up to his waist. The crystals open up like flower petals, and the energy around Cory flows into the openings. They close after all visible energy around him disappears into them. Cory falls down to his knees, breathing heavily. He clenches his fists and the 12 large crystals divide in two and shrink down to the size of marbles.
